Latest Prayer Requests

Thank you so much for praying for us as a family and for our ministry here in Zambia. We would really appreciate your prayers for the next month, as it will be a very busy one of visitors and ministry. 

-In June, we are very pleased to have Dr. Sorensen and his wife, Becky, come for over two weeks to minister here. Dr. Sorensen will be, Lord willing, working with local hospitals and the health department here in Zambia to help develop the field of Neurology. Please pray that all the necessary paperwork and clearance would be completed by the time they arrive and that Neurology would be further developed in Zambia for God’s glory. 

-Also in June, a short-term team from Faith Fellowship in Marshfield, WI (Sorensen’s home church) will be coming for two weeks to minister at some schools here in Lusaka and then also do a Christian Leader’s Conference 12 hours northwest of Lusaka. The CROSS Project (myself, John, and Eta) will be teaching a condensed version of the CROSS Project in the afternoons during the conference. Please pray that church leaders would be encouraged, strengthen, and grounded in the Word through the conference, and please also pray for safety while traveling there and back.  

-Please pray for wisdom and knowledge as we develop new CROSS Project curriculum on topics such as Marriage and Family, Domestic Abuse, 9 Marks of a Healthy Church, What is a Healthy Church Member?, Suffering and the Sovereignty of God, Dying Well, and others.

• We’ve almost finished with CROSS Project Term 1 for 2013! Please continue to pray for the Ciyanjano Christian Campgrounds staff that we just finished training. Pray also for Chipata Church of the Nazarene (Monday afternoons) and Misisi Church of the Nazarene (Thursday afternoons) as they go through the CROSS Project. Pray that God would awaken their hearts to taste and see the beauty of God’s sovereign goodness even in HIV/AIDS and domestic abuse; that they would apply the Bible to their own lives and families; that they would go out into their local communities, taking what they have learned, and share the gospel, minister to physical and spiritual needs, and train others.
• Please pray for a local church that has recently asked us to come and provide HIV testing and counseling at their church on June 10. CROSS now provides HIV testing and counseling to local churches in partnership with a local HIV-testing center here in Lusaka. 

-Pray for unity, endurance, hope, and joy in Jesus for the ACTION Zambia team and sweet times in the Word each day. 

-Pray that God would pour out His grace on the Zambian Church and that it would glorify God in how it relates to HIV/AIDS and domestic abuse.

-Pray for more money to come in for Bibles that we give out to those who we train in the C.R.O.S.S. Project. One Bible costs between $8-$10, depending on what language it is in.
