We don’t get the “opportunity” to experience what most people in Zambia experience on a very regular basis – power outages. The place that we moved in to when we came last January is equipped with a backup generator. That means that anytime the power goes out, we count to 12, and we’re in business again!
But, for some reason, we haven’t been so fortunate lately. We think that the backup generator is on the fritz, because we’ve had quite a few blackouts lately, especially in the evening, which last for a couple hours, at least.
Charlie was pretty nervous the first evening it happened, but he warmed up to the idea of candles everywhere and started finding it pretty fun. It makes us really thankful for the constant power we have enjoyed over the last 20 months, though!
